HighPointe of the Month

Welcome to the October 2025 newsletter! Please explore the fun things happening within the HighPointe Community! 🍂

HighPointe Clients Featured as Part of Denver7’s “Everyday Heroes” Story!

We’re so proud to share that our HighPointe clients were recently featured on Denver7’s Everyday Heroes segment, celebrating a remarkable volunteer at the Highlands Ranch Library who leads Sensory Story Time.
Sensory Story Time is a truly special outing for our clients; it’s a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging experience that brings stories to life through touch, sound, and movement.

Our clients look forward to every visit and cherish the kindness, creativity, and joy that the library staff and volunteers bring to each session.
We’re so grateful to the Highlands Ranch Library and to the amazing volunteer recognized by Denver7 for making storytime a highlight of the week for so many in our community!

Hayrides & Happiness at Chatfield Pumpkin Patch! 🎃

Throughout the month of October, our Centennial HighPointe clients have been enjoying festive fall outings to the Chatfield Pumpkin Patch, and it’s extra special thanks to one of our own! David L., one of our amazing clients, and his mom, who works at the pumpkin patch, make each visit memorable by giving our group hay rides and sharing the fun of the season together.

We’re so grateful for our incredible HighPointe community and families like David’s who open up their spaces and hearts to make sure our clients feel welcomed, included, and celebrated. Every ride, every smile, and every pumpkin picked reminds us what community is all about. 🍂❤️

New Vehicles🚐

We purchased two additional 6-passenger vans in October thanks to a grant from Developmental Pathways. They will replace the two older 15-passenger buses that have become costly to maintain. The vans will provide more flexibility on outings and a smoother ride for our clients.

We are so Back!

We’re getting back to what HighPointe is all about — building friendships, getting outside, and having fun! Alongside our day program, we’re adding more social and outdoor activities for adults with IDD to connect, explore, and thrive.

Our very first Garage Social took place on October 25th — and what an incredible night it was! Adults 18+ with IDD came together to enjoy music, games, snacks, and plenty of laughter in a welcoming, inclusive space. The energy was amazing, and it was so great to see everyone connecting and having fun.

This is just the beginning! The Garage Social will be hosting future events for different groups, so there’s always something new to look forward to. Want to get involved or find out when the next event is happening? Visit our website for more details!

Energy Efficiency Updates⚡

We have been blessed to receive an energy efficiency grant funded by Xcel Energy. The building will be updated with new ceiling insulation, HVAC units, new LED lighting, and window caulking. This will enhance the room temperatures while greatly reducing energy costs. The updates will take place over a number of months starting by the first of 2026.
