I worked in public schools as a paraprofessional for five years and have several close friends with children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). My experience has helped me develop strong skills in patience, empathy, and compassionate care. I love working with the IDD community because of their incredible outlook on life and the meaningful connections I get to make every day.
I grew up with a brother who has IDD, which connected me to many incredible people in the IDD community. I love this community because of the confidence and uniqueness each person carries, qualities I deeply admire. They continually reveal to me beautiful and unique reflections of God’s heart.
With over 20 years of experience as a CNA and more than 10 years working in day programs and work skills facilities, I bring a deep commitment to compassionate, person-centered care. I am QMAP certified and have a true passion for supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This community teaches me something new every single day, and working alongside people with disabilities has made my life richer, more meaningful, and more joyful.
I am an EMT certified in the state of Ohio, bringing a strong foundation in emergency response, safety, and compassionate care. While I do not have prior experience working directly with the intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) population, I am eager to learn and grow in this field. I am especially drawn to the unique personalities, senses of humor, and meaningful daily interactions that come with this work. I look forward to building positive relationships and hope to make a meaningful difference, even in small ways, in the lives of those I support.
